Here are some ways to help build your coupons stash.
1. Sunday Newspaper - You definitely want to buy a couple Sunday papers. Some people recommend that you buy one paper for each person living in your house. I personally only buy 2 Sunday papers unless their are going to be extra inserts on a given week. If there is a great deal that you want to stock up on, you can always get extra coupons from a coupon clipping site (such as The Coupon Clippers or Coupons by Dede) or even eBay. Also, you want to make sure that the paper you buy gets the full Smart Source (SS), Red Plum (RP), and Procter and Gamble (P&G). I am from a rural area and our local paper only get a smaller version of the SS. To fix this problem, I buy the San Fransisco Chronicle. You also might need to buy a paper from a larger city.
2. Printable Coupons - Internet coupons are a great way to save money. These tend to be higher value coupons. Just remember to set your printer to the economical print and use black ink (save your color!). Also, Costco and Walgreen's both refill printer cartridges for around $10. That is a great way to help save money on ink!
3. E-Coupons - This is a great way to get coupons. Plus it takes hardly any effort! Many stores have loyalty cards (ex. Safeway, Tom Thumb, Dominick's, Genuardi's, Carrs, Vons, Pavilions). You can actually "load" coupons onto these loyalty cards to use when you shop! No clipping! Here are the four main companies you can "load" e-coupons from:
- Cellfire
- Shortcuts
- P&G eSaver
- Upromise - Instead of giving you cash off your purchase, this company deposits money into a college savings account for your child (or a child of your choice). Go HERE for more information.
5. In Stores - Stores always have blinkies, peelies, or tear pads. When you see them, grab a few and save them for future purchases.
6. In the Mail - There are lots of companies that offer coupons in the mail. If there are products you use regularly (like diapers) you can sign up for free coupons in the mail! Also, companies like VocalPoint are great for coupons.
7. Inside Products - Always check around and inside the products that you buy. Sometimes there are coupons inside or right on the box itself!
