Confused by all the crazy abbreviations and lingo? Well, hopefully this will help:


SS: Smart Source coupon insert

RP: Red Plum coupon insert

PG: Proctor and Gamble coupon insert

MQ: Manufacturer Coupon

OOP: Out of Pocket Expense

IE: Internet Explorer

FF: Firefox

TEAR PAD: A pad of coupons or rebates found around the stores.

BLINKIE : A small machine that spits out coupons.

PEELIES: Coupons that are stuck to the front of products

BOGO or B1G1: Buy one get one free.

GC: Gift Card

FAR: Free After Rebate

ONYO: On Your Next Order

UPC: Universal product code (those black straight lines with numbers under them).

RR: Register Reward. This is Walgreens catalina program.

CAT: Catalina coupon. These are little coupons that print at the cash register of various stores (Safeway, Walgreens, ect.) They can be a manufacturer coupon (MQ) or it can be a certain dollar amount of your next purchase.

STACKING: Stacking refers to using 2 coupons on 1 item. This can happen when you use a store coupon (found in their ad) and a manufacture coupon. This is a great way to cut down your OPP (out of pocket expense)!

ROLLING: Rolling occurs when you buy a product that gives you either a CAT (catalina) or a GC (gift card) and you use it to buy more of the same product. For example: You buy a bottle of Shampoo from Target and it gives you a $3 gift card. You might want to "roll" your GC by getting another bottle of Shampoo. You pay with your $3 gift card and you get another one. This can go on and on.

Final Price: FREE

Use $2/2 from 7/21 RP
Final Price: $1.98 for 2!

Then this would mean to go look in your Red Plum coupon insert from the week dated 7/21. Cut your coupon for $2 off of two bottles of Pantene Shampoo to pay$.99 per bottle!
